In the second-to-last over of the Pakistan-Afghanistan encounter in the Super Four stage match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan's aggressive batter Asif Ali and Afghanistan's bowler Farid Ahmad got into a furious altercation on the field.

After Ahmad mocked Ali after he was dismissed, the two cricketers got into a heated argument.

A six from Asif Ali earlier in the game was on Ahmad's delivery.

However, the incident has left online users wondering about what might have done between the two athletes.

In a now-viral footage, Ahmed is first seen acting hostile toward Ali before violently raising his bat in the air and threatening to strike the Afghan bowler.

Soon after, players from both Pakistan and Afghanistan, including Hasan Ali and Azmatullah Umarzai, intervened to put an end to the argument.

Fazalhaq Farooqi, an Afghan player, also made a joke at Asif as he made his way toward the pavilion in the heat of the moment.
